Experience

Wagner & Hunt, P.A., formerly Bruce E. Wagner, P.A., has represented creditors for over thirty years and has over sixty years of combined legal experience. Our practice is limited exclusively to providing debt collection services and representation to creditors.  Established in 1977, our firm has been representing creditors since 1978.

We are one of only four law firms nationally who serve as outside agencies for American Express, a distinction that we have held for more than twenty years.  The firm expanded in 2005 when Deryl Hunt became a Member.  Mr. Hunt serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA).

We have a full in-house collections and skip tracing staff enabling us to provide full service to clients. Our collections methods are tailored to meet the desires of each individual client, whether it be for an emphasis on traditional dunning or litigation.

 We are members in good standing with the Florida Bar, American Collectors Association (ACA), and the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA).

We have the technological capability and expertise to exchange data with virtually every commercially available collection package on the market today, including Recovery Management Systems (RMS), Collection Partner, CLS, Columbia Ultimate, You’ve Got Claims, Jim Hubbard & Associates, as well as many others.

Adhere to strenuous data security policies
Are Payment Card Industry (PCI-DSS) compliant
Have undergone numerous physical and data security audits
Have a fully documented and tested business continuation plan
Are virtually paperless as all incoming and outgoing documents are scanned
Employ multiple levels of physical security including video cameras and key card access
Employ dedicated programmers enabling us to ehance our recovery management system to meet client needs

Our Staff

Our collections and legal staff  is capable and professional. Low turnover and exceptional average tenure are a testament to our stability.  Most of our collection staff have been with us for more than six years.  Regular educational meetings and training sessions keep our staff fully apprised of all Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Florida's Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA) requirements.
